A little more informative than the tour but not as interesting as one would hope for a history of the plantation home. Being a resident in the Baton Rouge area, I particularly enjoyed reading this book. The places were familiar to me, so I could really appreciate the details. What really made this book special was the emphasis the authors placed on the stories of the people who inhabited Magnolia Mound. It was fascinating to read about the changes taking place in America throughout the lives of the occupants of Magnolia Mound.
